It’s a fabulous Barolo; full of cherry and strawberry, laced with liquorice, dried flowers and herbs. The palate has a lovely fluidity and sweet fruits dominate while mineral and spice sit in the background and beautifully fine and resolved tannins keep everything contained and drawn out. The Monrobbio di BUssia fruit adds in a hint of ferrous austerity which plays a nice buffering role to the sweetness and cuddle if the Cannubi. It’s gotta be the bargain Baroli of the year. Utterly delicious. MICHAEL MCNAMARA
