Syrah from Chavanay, destemmed, 2-3 week vinification, pumping overs, cap punchings, aged part vat, part 3-8 year 228-litre oak casks 8 months, fined, unfiltered

‘quite a dark red; the bouquet has a reductive air, so needs to breathe, with a fair level of richness within the cooked red fruits, has linger, depth, latent spice. The palate bears compact gras, holds its shape into a close marked by some powder rock tannin, reflects cooked red fruits, darkens as it closes, is a steady Syrah IGP, carries juicing, but isn’t as nuanced as the best.
