Subtle if still perceptible notes of wood set off the vaguely exotic aromas of white peach, passion fruit and cool floral elements. There is a bit more volume to the delicious middleweight flavors that flash a lovely underlying tension that also suffuses the beautifully textured, lingering and sappy finale. This firm and balanced effort displays the innate class of a fine Puligny.
ALLAN MEADOWS – Burghound
Also new in 2022, also a half hectare holding. An attractive lime infused colour. The bouquet is more floral, a little extra distinction, with a thread of apple underlying. Very elegant, with tension and some concentration, quite a step up from the straight Puligny, especially the length of the finish.
JASPER MORRIS – Inside Burgundy
Another new cuvée at this address, the 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Charmes is more refined and mineral than its generic counterpart, revealing notes of white peach, citrus zest, fresh bread, beeswax and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, pure and lively palate, concluding with a saline finish.
