This is the darkest of the bunch. More fresh turned earth and crushed rock, as opposed to the minerality of the Gevrey. Quite a giving palate, charming and open, it invites with a bevvy of bramble fruit, a dusting of cocoa and a finely tuned, almost briskly fresh, vein of acidity. The tannins are sweet and well formed, but more evident than the Gevrey too. It’s attractive, supple and giving, even though the tannins are showing a little today. The darker shades give way to brighter aspects. Tough call between these two wines. I also wonder, this lieu-dit is right up against the Chambolle-Musigny border, does that explain its charm and welcoming nature? Anyway, lovely! ROSCOE
