Some whole bunches, a gentle hand plunging twice a day and 10 months in barriques (30% new). A fabulous crimson purple. Gently brooding with its aromas of dark cherry and raspberries together with scents of roses in full bloom and a little sous bois. Medium bodied and very persistent on the beautifully structured and intense palate. This will need some time, but your patience will be fully rewarded. (97) PHILIP RICH

Bright, deep and youthful red-purple colour; there are subtle complexities involving undergrowth, rose-petals and pot-pourri. Wonderful bouquet. Good concentration and tight focus on the palate, with depth and structure. A serious pinot noir with intensity, line and persistence, lengthened and firmed by tight but measured tannins that impart some cleansing balsamic-herb bitterness. A delicious wine, that really fills up the back-palate. It would reward some cellaring. (96) HUON HOOKE
