    Producer: Vasse Felix
    Country: Australia
    Grape: chardonnay
    Size: 750ml
    Vintage: 2024
A serene, poised and impeccably balanced offering with a sea spray and cashew like note emerging with a big old swirl. Less taut than the last vintage but beautifully framed, long, juicy, primary and invigorating. It's got a bit more flash, some more bling, but its all so well composed. You have to admire the wines sense of confidence. It pushes lots of flavour across your mouth and it does so while retaining that inner tension that we expect from the clone, and I think, maybe, part of this cooler Wallcliffe plot. This is not a showy Vasse, not a Marg Chardonnay that blows you away right from the get go, rather it's a more refined, poised and pristine example of the region. It commands your attention, but it does so through its surety and confidence in the knowledge that it has everything in just the right places and will only grow in stature and expand with time. It's a truly exceptional rendition of a wine that I look forward to every year now. Superbly balanced and impeccably manicured. Drink it now or over the next 15 or so years. Once again, I would suggest this will rival the Heytesbury for quality, but the style is very different. Of all the releases to date, this is the most complete version. ROSCOE
