Winemaker Steve Doerner, who has been at
the helm since 1992, has a track record of excellence second to none. There is a
harmony, finesse, and elegance to the Cristom Pinots that is emulated but never
quite equaled by other estates. Even in lesser years, the wines have an almost
magical mixture of precision and nuance. Due to the exemplary balance of the
Cristom wines, they can be drunk young. Hence their appeal to top restaurants.
