The 2017 Elizabeth Semillon is the current release for this wine, and just smelling it tells you that this is the correct time to release it. Creamed honey on toast, feta, thyme, lemon verbena and sea salt jostle for aromatic pole position. In the mouth, the wine achieves harmony and grace, as all components settle into each other in a single, streamlined flow of flavor. This is powerful without being heavy, and it's incredibly long, all the while maintaining its glassy nature. It's a beautiful wine and a pleasure to drink, with eons left in it. Suggestions of green apple, preserved citrus, fresh tobacco leaf and straw linger after the wine has gone. ERIN LARKIN
