The NV Brut Rosé Cuvée Rubis is absolutely gorgeous. Fresh, vibrant and pulsing with energy, the Rubis has much to offer. Cranberry, white pepper and chalk add to the wine's tense, nervous personality. As always, the Rubis is a Champagne of precision and feminine grace. ANTONIO GALLONI

Jean-Francois describes pinot noir as entering a phase he dubs 'The Whirlwind' in its sixth year of maturation. The rest of his inspiration is impossible to put into words, but clicking on 'Cuvee Design Specification' on his website will put you on the right trajectory. For the exuberance of Bouzy pinot noir and not inconsiderable age, the freshness packed into this cuvee is something to behold. Grapefruit tang meets crunchy red apple fruit, contrasting the generosity and spice of the village and the tension of zero dosage. Get on board. Tyson Stelzer

Here the secondary fermentation in bottle is encouraged by the addition of unfermented must (juice) of the same wine. The wine does not undergo disgorgment and so retains the natural yeast sediment which, if disturbed, gives the wine a slightly hazy appearance. This is a nod to the traditional styles of the region enjoyed by the Cosmo family in the days of their parents and grandparents. It presents with a slightly softer profile and more subtlety of character than some of the other cuvees. For me it is the kind of wine that you want to pop at the start of a long lunch or dinner with friends, it is eminently digestible and provides serious ease for consumption. ROSCOE

A mesmerizing, thrilling Champagne, the 2002 Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart is a great example of the vintage at its best. Silky and racy on the palate, yet a bit more restrained than many wines of the year, the Nicolas François Billecart remains vivid and remarkably nuanced. Brioche. apricot jam, wild flowers and honey are some of the many notes that blossom as the Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart shows off its voluptuous personality. The 2002 is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. (97) ANTONIO GALLONI

This has a super-composed nose with gently spiced pastry and bright strawberry and cherry fruits, as well as some spiced brulée custard and praline. There's a lot of deep-set complexity here. The palate has a bright, crunchy, and assertive burst of peach and lemon flavor on entry, while the pinot takes the mid-palate with fleshy white cherries and smooth phenolics that hold through to the finish with gently nutty mushroom and cherry-pip flavors to close. Great balance and power. Drink now through to 2025+. This vintage is a 60/40 split between pinot noir and chardonnay. JAMES SUCKLING

The NV Brut Réserve is bright and finely sculpted right out of the glass. There's terrific purity and energy running through the Brut Réserve. Crushed red berry fruit, white pepper, crushed rocks and mint all race out of the glass. This release is based on 2020, with a good bit of reserve wine (35%) that serves to create terrific balance. The 2015 Extra-Brut Le Cran is one of the stars in this range. The blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay works so well. Apricot, yellow flowers, tropical fruit, chamomile and spice are all amplified in this large-scaled, ample Champagne. There's a tropical, exuberant quality to the 2015 that is notable. Chardonnay was picked at 10.5% and the Pinot was a bit riper, at 10.8%. Dosage is 3 grams per liter. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous.com

The 2017 Extra-Brut Blanc de Noirs Mailly Grand Cru is racy, exuberant and full of character. Intense Pinot notes scream out of the glass in this exotic yet beautifully balanced Champagne. Red berry fruit, spice, kirsch, mint, dried flowers and anise build effortlessly. The purity of the flavors is quite striking. This is a fabulous showing... With air, the 2017 is wonderfully delicate and hugely appealing. Dosage is 3 grams per liter. ANTONIO GALLONI, Vinous.com

The 2017 Extra-Brut Cramant Grand Cru is a rich, textured wine. Lemon confit, marzipan, spice and a whole range of tropical accents are dialed up in this exuberant, open-knit Champagne. This is an especially flamboyant style, but it works nicely. The mousse is especially fine, giving the Cramant a decidedly vinous feel. This is tremendous showing in a very hard year that was better in the Côtes des Blancs than in the Marne Valley, where rot was especially problematic. Dosage is 3 grams per liter. Based on 60% Pinot Noir and the rest Chardonnay, the 2016 Champagne Vintage Brut is released only after 6-7 years on the lees (sur latte). It pours a straw hue and displays a more expressive profile on opening, with notes of tangerine and fresh flowers, its red fruit coming through with fresh red raspberry and peppery spice. It's medium-bodied and rounded through the palate, with excellent structure, powerful concentration, and a long finish. This has a refined yet powerful feel and will be a wine with significant longevity and slow maturation over the next 15-20 years. True to the house style, it has a sturdy backbone and is emblematic of a fantastic vintage champagne from Pol Roger. The mousse is pinpoint and rounded on the finish (95) JEB DUNNUCK

The 2016 Brut Vintage reveals a complex, gourmand bouquet with aromas of ripe orchard fruits, nectarine, pastry, nuts, sweet spices and ripe white fruits, signs of a warm vintage. Full-bodied, broad and vinous with a fleshy core of fruit, it's rich and elegant with a penetrating, saline finish. It will drink at its peak in five to 10 years WINE ADVOCATE

A very elegant and silky vintage Champagne with a seamless harmony of candied citrus fruit, sushi ginger and dried cherry character with racy acidity and delicate minerality at the long, straight and refined finish. (95) JAMES SUCKLING

The Bérêche rosé—Campania Remensis— uses the Roman name for the countryside around Reims. The 2019 is 70% Pinot Noir and Meunier with 25% Chardonnay, topped up with 5% still red wine. The fruit is sourced from vines planted by the brothers’ maternal grandmother in the 1950s. These three hectares of old vines are deeply rooted in the sandy Les Montées vineyard in Ormes, just west of Reims. The fruit was harvested on September 13th at 11.5-12.1% potential alcohol, making it one of the ripest harvests of the last decade and producing a wine of great concentration and rich flavour. A long, slow fermentation was followed by aging in three- to six-year-old barrels on lees. After secondary fermentation, the cuvée saw a further 36-plus months in the bottle on lees. As always, this was disgorged by hand, with 3.5 g/L dosage. IMBIBO
