Skin fermented Pinot G with exotic fragrance and shapely texture (lightly cloudy) Heady lychee and damask rose, pink pear skins, stone fruit, smoky spice, bitter orange, gingerbread, musky dusk.
Cool climate single vineyard origin: Derwent Valley Tasmania 42.6°S. Handpicked on a fruit day after the harvest moon. Whole bunch open wild ferment, 30 days on skin. Basket pressed, matured 6 months sur lie en demi-john. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with perfect natural balance. 50 dozen (600 bottles) produced SIMHA

The vineyards of the 45-hectare Domaine la Suffrene are spread over the communes of La Cadiere-d'Azur and Castellet in the Provencal appellation of Bandol. The estate is run by Cedric Gravier and although the first estate-bottled wines were released only in 1996, the domaine is now one of the leading producers of the region.
