  1. Chateau du Rouet Cuvee Reserve Cotes de Provence Rose 2021 375ml
Chateau du Rouet Cuvee Reserve Cotes de Provence Rose 2021 375ml
Never judge a book buy it's cover right? Mostly, you see the colour of this and you at least know you are on good footing to begin with. It's pale, like a blush of peach. Properly dry with a splash of sweet citrus, mandarin, ripe red grapefruit, a just tart orange aspect and then some lovely peach notes. All this is underpinned by a bright, clear, palate cleansing freshness and a nice pithy texture that licks at the sides of your mouth. It's long and energising, it both slackens the thirst with its buoyant, uplifting feel and engages the old taste buds and sets the salivary glands quivering. Who doesn't love Rose like this? It's so enjoyable to drink. ROSCOE

  2. Domaine Terrebrune Bandol Rose 2020
    Domaine Terrebrune Bandol Rose 2020

Limpid orange. Mineral-accented blood orange, strawberry, floral and succulent herb scents show fine definition and pick up a spicy nuance with air. Chewy and densely packed yet energetic and sharply focused on the palate, offering vibrant red berry, bitter cherry, citrus pith and honeysuckle flavors and a deeper peach pit flourish. The mineral and floral notes return on the very long, precise finish. JOSH RAYNOLDS, vinous.com

50% Mourvèdre, 25% Grenache, 25% Cinsault.  An exceptional expression of Bandol Rose. Brilliant Sites, considered farming (organic) & purposeful wine making.

  3. Gueissard Le Petit G IGP Mediterranée Rosé 2021
Gueissard Le Petit G IGP Mediterranée Rosé 2021
The Little G that all the homies want to be.  Made with a lot of care considering its level – grapes are hand harvested and manually sorted for starters.  Provence style through and through, it’s of beautiful salmon shade, with a nose of zesty citrus, mandarin and satsuma, the palate fruit driven and crunchy, with some of Gueissard’s house style showing through – a teeny bit of guava skin, red currants, tangarine/mandarin juice, and a herbal undertow.  Summer in a bottle.

  4. Jules Mediterranean Rose 2022
    Jules Mediterranean Rose 2022

Hugh and Jane Faulkner fell in love with a vineyard, situated on the foothills of the Masif des Maures, in the centre of the Var, and settled at the property in 1989. Their eldest son Julian would eventually take over the running of the vineyard in 2000. A shrewd wine businessman and talented vigneron, Julian established the Jules label with the mission to craft delicious, accessible, and great value wines with single estate personality.

Another killer Rose from Jules! The 2022 is dangerously easy to drink. Hints of citrus peel and cranberry/red currant fruits on the nose. Strawberries and cream, sea spray, and slightly herbaceous on the palate, with a focused salinity. The personality of the 2022 is certainly of more precision and detail than previous releases. You would be crazy to not have a dozen of waiting in the wings for every time someone drops by for a drink on the patio or that last minute BBQ invite. PWS

  5. Chateau du Rouet Cuvee Reserve Cotes de Provence Rose 2022
Chateau du Rouet Cuvee Reserve Cotes de Provence Rose 2022
A lovely lift of red cherries, pomegranate and white nectarines leads into a fleshy and textured core. Subtle herbal tones of fennel and dried thyme and wild strawberries join in the chorus too. There's presence and intensity thanks to the riper 2022 vintage, balanced by a spine of chalky acidity. Pleasing phenolics on the finish add a tantalising chew, like biting through peach skins. A hint of white pepper to finish adds a twist (reminds me of adding pepper to strawberries, shouldn't work but it does!). Keep this delightful thirst slaker on hand this summer. GABRIELLE POY, PWS

Around 60% Grenache with 30% Cinsault and a touch of the traditional Tibourenc grape the harvests are done at night to maintain freshness and the light maceration’s performed in temperature-controlled tanks to help maintain a wonderful lift to the wines. This results in a complex Rose that skirts the line beautifully between the richer Rose’s of Bandol but with the more delicate hand of Provence. PWS

  6. Quin Wines Barossa Valley Rose 2022
Quin Wines Barossa Valley Rose 2022
Mataro sourced from Aldo's vineyard in the southern Barossa parish of Williamstown. Pale salmon in the glass with notes of redcurrant, raspberry, red cherry and citrus fruits along with hints of white flowers, marzipan, stone, raspberry cream and a whiff of freshly cut fennel. Super-sapid porcelain acidity drives this along nicely, and there's a wee slink of texture to boot, finishing dry, red-fruited and clanging for some food. DAVE BROOKES, James Halliday

Andrew Quin  and his wife Sky are a dynamic couple behind Quin Wines. Both born and raised in Melbourne they purchased a 7 hectare vineyard in Seppeltfield in the heart of the Barossa Valley with the goal of making exceptional wines. As head winemaker for both Hentley Farm and Ricca Terra, Andrew knows how to make wine, and works closely with the viticulturalists to ensure he always has the best fruit to work with.

    Domaine Gueissard Bandol Rose 2022

    60% Mourvédre, 30% Cinsault, 10% Grenache. Screwcap.

The most classically Bandol release we've seen from this young gun, new wave producer - for us, driving flintiness is what defines the rosés of this region and sees them regarded as pinnacle expressions, with that character here in spades.  The nose leaps out with cream, florals and cut passionfruit, the palate woven with quince, guava, red currants and again, passionfruit.  Length, complexity and presence here though super refreshing all the way through.

Domaine d’Eole Coteaux d’Aix en Provence Rose 2022

55% Grenache blended with Cinsault, Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cournoise.  Certified organic.  Long, vinous and sappy.

"How much does importer Felix Riley love rosato!
Peach, blood orange, redcurrant, rosehip and dried flowers, a little nutmeg and spice, and a smattering of smoky dried herb.  It's crisp, sports a little blood orange bitterness, a fine milky/chalky texture, peach skin and citrus tang, a little leesy creaminess, and a tight and sappy finish of good length.  Classic Provence. 10. Solis Cotes de Provence Rose 2022
Solis Cotes de Provence Rose 2022

Solis Rose. This is the summer wine we have been waiting for. This is one of the best value Provence rose we have seen in some time and that is saying something given how much good pink is in the market at the moment.

This is pretty classic stuff in all the best ways. A touch of fresh strawberry, snappy red currants, white pepper, a touch of fairy-floss lift and oh-so-inviting sweetly floral nose. It follows with that same wild strawberry and red berry fruit all fleshy and bright with a rim of citrus peel and quartzy-like minerality edging. It punches way above its weight here and while it will go down a treat on a warms summers day its equally at home paired with any BBQ fair you might want to throw at it.
