  1. il Modo Rosso 2019
    il Modo Rosso 2019
With no nerello mascalese plantings in Australia, Nadeson has fermented sangiovese, pinot noir, aglianico, sagrantino, nebbiolo and shiraz in an amphora and miraculously made a wine with finesse and inky tannins. This medium bodied red tempts with heady violets, licorice root and black plums on the nose. The palate flows, entwined with a meaty tone alongside the florals and spice. This has dimension and texture, and is very delicious. GABRIELLE POY, PWS

  2. Ronchi di Cialla Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso 2014
Ronchi di Cialla Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso 2014

The 2014 Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso di Cialla is a darkly alluring and rich red, with brown spice, smoked meats and ground coffee giving way to woodland berries. Savory red fruits and exotic spice offset a lovely inner sweetness, all enriched by a touch of hazelnut. Soft tannins, ginger and sour citrus are left lingering as the 2014 tapers off almost juicy in feel. This is a unique style of the Refosco, courtesy of the difficult 2014 vintage, but one that any fan of Ronchi di Cialla should not be without. Eric Guido, Vinous 2023

  3. Little Reddie 'New!' Colbinabbin Nebbiolo Refosco 2023
Little Reddie 'New!' Colbinabbin Nebbiolo Refosco 2023
What does good coffee, a drought hardy fish, and Castlemaine all have in common? Little Reddie. What started as a little backyard, winemaking good times has turned in a serious (and we use that term lightly in the loosest but best possible way) wine business from all-round good guy Pat Underwood. We are always happy to see him and there is always a few good laughs with a number of staff that have worked with Pat over the years as he weaved his way through some of Melbournes best wine venues while sneaking off to Italy to do harvest in Piedmonte.

His wines are pure and expressive with minimal intervention leaning but not at the expense of making clean and giving wines. A love of Nebbiolo and Italian varietals in general has culminated in this cracking little blend. A little refosco from adds pleny of crunchy red fruit and tope-note spice to a wine that comes across light and juicy but with a serious edge the belies the effortlessness at which this slips over your tastebuds.
