This is one of those wonderful surprises when a "simple" villages level wine has not only navigated the vicissitudes of time and storage but also outperformed its classification in the hierarchy. A fully mature and wonderfully envelopping nose offers notes of sous bois, earth, forest floor and a seductive hint of spice that can also be found on the delicious, round, sweet and impressively deep flavors that coat the mouth and deliver very fine length. I would be drinking this over the next 5 years or so as it will probably begin to tire by then but for the time being, it's a most satisfying and mature burg. It's amazing sometimes what modest appellations can deliver in time. Burghound
