FIVE STAR WINERY
Jansz is part of Hill-Smith Family Vineyards, and was one of the early sparkling wine labels in Tasmania, stemming from a short-lived relationship between Heemskerk and Louis Roederer. Its 15ha of chardonnay, 12ha of pinot noir and 3ha of pinot meunier correspond almost exactly to the blend composition of the Jansz wines. It is the only Tasmanian winery entirely devoted to the production of sparkling wine (although the small amount of Dalrymple Estate wines are also made here), and is of high quality. Part of the former Frogmore Creek Vineyard purchased by Hill-Smith Family Vineyards in Dec 2012 will be dedicated to the needs of Jansz Tasmania. JAMES HALLIDAY
