SPECIAL VALUE - From a vineyard located a few kilometres from Adelaide Hills in the south of the Barossa Valley. The fruit is grown for rosé making, left to soak on skins for a few hours, pressed off and left on lees. It's got energy and texture to burn. Slipperiness with a little grip, nutty undertones beneath sour cherry, blood orange, rosehip tea characters, sweet spice and a little alpine herb lift. It's quite spicy and piquant overall, with good, medium-weight concentration and drive. Seriously good. (95) MIKE BENNIE, Halliday Wine Companion
First impression is of strawberry tart, first sip is textural, nutty in flow, with notes of stone fruit too, pink peach and waxy red apple skin. It’s bitter and salty to taste, something like baked sour apple and burnt creme caramel. The aftertaste lingers with bitter herbs and a mix of pierced orange rind and peeled red apple skin. Nothing here is straightforward sweet, all is wonderfully savoury-umami in nature. It’s quite a special rose of interest. (93) KASIA SOBIESIAK, The Wine Front
