Shimmering, onion skin color. Intense red berry, citrus fruit and floral aromas, along with building suggestions of succulent herbs and dusty minerals. Sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering concentrated strawberry, orange pith and honeysuckle flavors that slowly deepen and take on a peachy nuance with aeration. Finishes impressively long and focused, with a repeating mineral note and a late hint of tarragon. JOSH RAYNOLDS
As is always the case this site offers a more robust and texturally bold rendition of Rose. The fruit here suggests something more like peach and nectarine though still with a citrus esque line of zippy acidity. As the colour suggests, it's a little more prominent here, the tannins are also more involved in the overall palate impression, which is one of overall sumptuousness. This is a rose of medium body and extract that provides a bit of a buffering tactile element that stains the palate a little. Still vibrant and fresh but also more impactful. It's pretty classic Bandol in that it's a more "serious" take on things. I want to inhale the Clos Mireille for all the joy it offers, this is a wine I want to sit down with, pour in to a big old Burg glass and prepare an appropriate dish to accompany it. It does beg for food. Excellent example. ROSCOE
