Normally this wine doesn’t set my heart on fire but I reckon ’21 has done a trick here. Medium weight, quite plush though, dark cherry, a lick of maraschino in there, a strong lavender lift through the wine too. It feels quite pure even with some concentration, excellent ricochets of earthy spice and sweet berry fruit to finish. In the mix, a truffle/shiitake character too. You could say complex in the same breath and easy drinking, and in that, there’s great charm here. Not profound, but I’m all over this. MIKE BENNIE, The Wine Front
