Gamay (mid-1980s) from 1+ hectare on granite soils at 350 metres at Pélussin, destemmed, 3 week vinification, pumping overs, cap punchings, raised 4-5 year 228-litre oak casks 6-7 months, unfined, filtered.
‘steady red robe; has a perky, uplifted nose, which is peppery, direct, cassis-fruited. The palate runs along freely, bears loose content, but with enough filling to hold up into the finish, is surrounded by smoke and a vegetal note.
