From a pergola trained, old-vine vineyard on the estate, the fruit is hand-picked, sorted and destemmed. Temperature controlled ferment with 10 days of maceration and pumping over. Aged for 6 months in 34 hectolitre French oak vats followed by time in bottle. You can spot the skillful touch of Nebbiolo-specialist enologist Paolo Benassi.
This inky beauty is a gorgeous introduction to Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, delivering a thoughtful, elegant and balanced contrast to the oaky, overripe industrial stuff often associated with the grape.
