The finest release yet under this label is beautifully fragrant, deeply flavoured and complex, with just a hint of meaty development. Floral and spicy aromas of red cherries, blood plums and fiery suggestions of baked earth are deeply perfumed and faintly herbal. It’s medium to full-bodied, unfolding gentle but unctuous layers of red cherries, plums and drying, kernelly tannins extending with length and completeness towards a lingering finish of refreshing acidity. Very true to the Bass Phillip style and character. JEREMY OLIVER
Spice, red fruits, beetroot, rose petals, touch of animale, pepper in the fragrant bouquet. Wafts from the glass. Strong scents. Sloshes in palate well but also finds grip and thrust; ripe fruited, tight, power of flavour and great density of fruit, yet an almost ethereal float across the palate too. It does it all. A wine that sits in the the mouth and levitates then asks you back to the glass. What a wine! MIKE BENNIE
