PRE-REQUISITE TO ENROLLING IN THIS COURSE.

There are two TWO SATURDAY INTENSIVE sessions:
3 October
and 7 November, 9.30am-5pm
There will be no classes on public
holidays.
Classes to be held at Prince Wine Store, 40 Hansard Street,
Zetland 2017.
An advanced level qualification for professionals working
in the wine industry and for wine enthusiasts.
For individuals seeking to
delve deeper into the world of wines, this qualification provides a detailed
understanding of grape growing and wine making.
Upon successful completion
you will be able to assess wines accurately, and use your understanding to
confidently explain wine style and quality.
You will receive a WSET
certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified
logo.
What you will learn:
Unit 1
The key factors in the production
of wine: location, grape growing, winemaking, maturation and bottling
How
these key factors influence the key characteristics of the principal
- still
wines of the world
- sparkling wines of the world
- fortified wines of the
world
How to apply your understanding to explain wine style and
quality.
Unit 2
- How to taste wines, describe their characteristics and
evaluate their quality, using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting
Wine® (SAT)
If you fail the exam, you may re-sit. It's $95 to for tasting
and $200 for theory.
Please note, if you do not attend the exam, you will
need to pay $100 for non-attendance, plus re-registration fees to the value of
re-sit fees.
Students withdrawing from the course within 72 hours of
commencement will forfeit 20% of the course fee. This course requires 8 students
to run.
