Weekly on Monday evenings, 6-8pm from 6 July to 7 September
2026 (Exam on this day).
Classes will not take place on public holidays.
The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is intended for those with little
previous experience in the field of wine. Students will also be introduced to
the main styles of wines produced by key grape varieties and a specific number
of regions. By the end of the course a student will know, simply by reading a
wine label, what most wines taste like.
The course is very suitable
for people who are not employed in the drinks industry but wish to learn more
about the subject. However, it is important that potential students appreciate
that this is primarily a professional development course for the hospitality
industry and is approached in that way by our tutors.
The course will be
run in a weekly format over nine weeks at Prince Wine Store, 40
Hansard Street, Zetland, 2017.
There will be an exam in the final
week. You will receive your results and a certificate within 6-12
weeks of completing the course.
There is a $185 fee to re-sit the exam
should you not pass and a $100 fee is you do not turn up for the exam, plus
re-registration fees equal to the re-sit fee.
If a student cancels their
enrolment within 72 hours of the course commencing, an 80% refund will be
provided. This course requires a minimum of 8 people to run.
The
course specification can be found here.
