The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is intended for those with
little previous experience in the field of wine. Students will also be
introduced to the main styles of wines produced by key grape varieties and a
specific number of regions. By the end of the course a student will know, simply
by reading a wine label, what most wines taste like.
The course is very suitable for people who are not employed in the drinks industry but wish to learn more about the subject. However, it is important that potential students appreciate that this is primarily a professional development course for the hospitality industry and is approached in that way by our tutors.
The course will be run in an intensive format over 3 x Saturdays at the
Prince Wine Store – 40 Hansard Street, Zetland. There will be an exam on the
final day.
You will receive your results and a digital certificate
within 6- 12 weeks of completing the course.
Because of the intensive nature of the course we advise that you collect your reading materials well in advance of the course date. Please note, if the course does not reach minimum numbers, we'll retain a small portion of the fees if books have been collected.
There is a $185 fee to re-sit the exam should you not pass and a $100 fee is
you do not turn up for the exam, along with re-registration fees equivalent to a
re-sit.
Students who withdraw within 72 hours of the course will forfeit
20% of the course fees. Students withdrawing after this time will forfeit 100%
of the course fees.
This course requires 8 people to run.
