

There is no doubt the wines of Mt Etna have firmly and lovingly made their way into the hearts and minds of wine lovers around the world. Australian drinkers have embraced them with gusto and once you try one it’s hard not to be captivated by their beguiling thread of minerality and fascinating fruit and aroma profile. They are wines that seem at once so familiar yet taste quite like nothing else on earth. 20 years ago, the wines of the region barely registered on the radar of any wine lover, Italian or otherwise, yet today the region creates some of the greatest fervour we see of any region.
Given that is the case, it was a no-brainer to put together a tasting that focuses in on this fascinating region and showcases what this incredibly singular patch of the earth produces. The combination of volcanic soils, high-altitude vineyards, and unique native varietals results in original and exhilarating wines. They are as fascinating as they are delicious.
