Tomfoolery

The irreverence of the name Tomfoolery belies a serious intent to produce wines of the Barossa Valley with a deft touch, respect for old vine culture and an eye on the pursuit of ultimate drinkability. These are wines that celebrate texture and expression over the supreme notion of balance, preferring to reflect vineyard character over winemaking artifice. The enjoyment factor is high with these wines, the exploration a reward.  MIKE BENNIE
The name of Ben Chipman and Toby Yaps business should not be taken at face value; the quality of the packaging is a better guide to the serious intent and skills of the partners. Each has a real job outside Tomfoolery, but not to the extent of preventing a serious approach to the making of the wines. All the right boxes are ticked. JAMES HALLIDAY
