Saturday June 24th - 2pm to 4pm [ON TAYLORS] This house must certainly be the Latour of Portugal. Their ports are remarkably backward yet still impressive when young. Of all the vintage ports, those of Taylor need the longest time to mature and even when fully mature seem to have an inner strength and firmness that keep them going for decades. WINE ADVOCATE  The vintage Ports of Fonseca are perhaps the most consistently great of them all. Not only do they have a striking fleshiness and powerful richness when young, but they retain that youthfulness for decades JAMES SUCKLING It's a little last minute but when we heard Robert Bower, Director of Taylors and Fonseca, was in town, we jumped a the chance to have him host a Port masterclass here at the store. Taylor's and Fonseca are two of the greatest houses in Port today, but each with an entirely different personality. Fonseca, renowned for its mouth-filling richness, complexity and exoticism and Taylor's for its understated power, youthful austerity and longevity. This is a brilliant duo from which to dive deep into the depth and diversity Port has to offer. We have put together a brilliant line up of wines for the masterclass which showcase the very best of these illustrious houses, including a pair of blockbuster vintage ports from the highly regarded 2017 vintage. Robert will take centre stage guiding you through the history of these storied houses and the intricacies of each of the ports on tasting. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to take part in an intimate masterclass featuing some of of the finest wines in the Douro Valley and hosted by someone who has spent a lifetime immersed in the world of Port. Tickets are strictly limited and can be purchase at the link to the right of screen.
