TASTE Of TASSIE

Saturday 13th June 12 pm - 2pm

Today, Tasmania is widely regarded as one of the country’s most exciting and dynamic regions. Subregions like Coal River Valley, Derwent Valley and Tamar Valley each bring their own nuance, but the overarching theme is precision, brightness, and site expression, underlying power but with precision.

While its early efforts of the 19th century largely failed, a resurgence of interest in the 80’’s and 90’s based around sparkling wines gave rise to one of the country's greatest regional success stories. More recently, a surge in small, quality-focused producers alongside continued investment from major players, all chasing the island’s cool-climate edge has further propelled the Apple Isle into the spotlight for wine lovers. With climate change increasingly shaping global wine, Tasmania’s relevance has only grown.

We are continually impressed by the wines coming across the tasting table each release, and it's not just about pinot and chardonnay. Sparkling, gris, riesling, syrah and many other varietals are impressing with each sip. We are always on the lookout for that next wine to rouse our interest, and Tassie is certainly delivers.

Join us on Saturday, where we have put together a handful of some of Tassie's greats, established names, classic bottlings, as well as some up-and-coming winemakers. We’ve included a selection of brilliant Tassie Whisky from Overeem distilleries to help fight the winter chill. This is always a popular tasting, so book your spot.
