Stella

Paolo Stella makes the wines at his family's estate (when he's not moonlighting with his famed collobration, Erpacrife) in the Monferrato Hills between Asti and Alba and where Barbera is most significant. The main game here is to produce wines of freshness and energy with as little intervention as possible. To this end he succeeds in spades making wines of the variety and more importantly of the place, i.e racy and bright in the d'Asti tradition. The wines do not see any small or new oak. PWS
