Snake and Herring
This is the venture of Tony (Snake) Davis and Redmond (Herring) Sweeny. Both started university degrees before finding that they were utterly unsuited to their respective courses. Having stumbled across Margaret River, Tonys life changed forever; he enrolled at Adelaide Universitys Roseworthy Campus, thereafter doing vintages in the Eden Valley, Oregon, Beaujolais and Tasmania, before three years at Plantagenet, next Brown Brothers, then a senior winemaking role at Yalumba, a six-year stint designing Millbrook Winery in the Perth Hills, and four years with Howard Park in Margaret River. Redmonds circuitous course included a chartered accounting degree and employment with an international accounting firm in Busselton, and the subsequent establishment of Forester Estate in 2001, in partnership with Kevin McKay. Back on home turf he is the marketing and financial controller of Snake + Herring. JAMES HALLIDAY
