Wednesday 14th June - 6:00pm to 8:30pm Do you know your Manzanillas from your Fino, your Palo Cortados from your Pedro Ximenez? Sherry continues to be one of the most under appreciated regions for some of the most thrilling fortified wines on the planet. Nestled around Southern Spain in Andalusia lies the country's prized Sherry Bodegas who produce wines that run the gamut from fine, saline and savoury to rich, nutty and unctuous. While to many Australians sherry is a drink than nanna indulges in after bowls on a Sunday, these incredibly well-priced wines offer brilliant vinous experiences for the most die-hard wine collectors and imbibers. They are dynamic at the dining table too, pairing with everything from seafood to cured meat and rich desserts and in short...we should be drinking more of them. So join us on Wednesday 14th June here at the store in Zetland as our resident Sherry expert and Spanish native Sara Torres hosts a masterclass that will open your eyes and palates to these wonderful wines. Sara has an impressive resume which includes a collaborative project between a university and Sherry bodega researching improvements in Sherry agro production, running her own Sherry centric wine shop in El Puerto de Santa Maria. She also holds a masters in Oenology and has experience working with in wineries in Jerez, South Africa and beyond. Sara will guide you through a full range of styles from producers such as La Goya, El Miestro Sierra, Cayetano and Valdespino and get you behind the scenes in what great Sherry is all about. This is one not to be missed and seat are limited.
