Serra i Barcelo

Josep Serra worked for the sadly defunct Mas Perinet, the winery belonging to singer Joan Manuel Serrat and other investors in Priorat. He’s now responsible for the Godelia wines in Bierzo. His wife had a small vineyard in the village of Capcanes in the heart of Montsant and he had the chance to purchase another plot of head-pruned, old vines. They had always sold the grapes, but in 2009 he decided to make some wine and bottle it as a small personal project. There’s only one wine produced from the 2.2 hectares of old vineyards.
