Savage Wines
Duncan Savage’s first solo vintage was as long ago as 2011, but he still seems to be a fresh face on the scene, and is now performing at the very highest level across the range. I can’t think of many better. He’s now planting vineyards, and things are still changing quite a bit in terms of the sources of fruit. As well as buying grapes, he leases vineyards, and has just begun leasing another two hectares. One of the most exciting developments is planting a hectare on steep slopes in the Karibib. JAMIE GOODE
