I usually love this wine because it marries both ease of consumption with a seriousness of place. Here I find myself admiring the wine more than usual. If you want a look at just how good 20 is as a vintage this will do the job nicely.
Dark cherry, swirls of other small, super ripe, sweet berries, a touch of menthol, fresh crushed fennel seeds and the faintest hint of balsamic. Enters smooth and suave, delivering a long, cooling and sumptuously fruited palate through which a bright line of acidity and muscular tannins flow. It's text book Brunello, but it's Rosso…

I love it but it really does hold some serious structure, that becomes more apparent with air. Maybe hold these while you drink some previous vintages. Time will only do it good.

Oooo, little while later the florality ramps up and the fruit freshens up. Finishes now with a cherry pip feel that is so damn appealing, so classic. Really does suggest a few years at least will be a blessing here, otherwise I recommend a good long decant as the final look at this wine was the most enjoyable. ROSCOE
