Owner Roberto Gianelli has made all the right steps here at his Tuscan estate as he moves toward wines of better freshness and vibrancy. Even in the warm 2017 the Rosso shows the beauty of Sangiovese in spades. Fresh cherry and dried herbs are nuances by a hint of cedar. While the wine is essentially medium bodied there is a little extra stuffing from the warmer vintage that is certainly no unwelcome from this sometimes boney variety. The texture is at once plush and clean and vibrant and nicely balanced between its sweet fruit and savoury tannins. PWS
