Here at Prince we have long been lovers, advocates and frankly tragics when it comes to riesling. It’s easy to see why, great riesling is breathtakingly pure and bristling full of energy, it’s heady aromatics draw you in and its electric acidities whistles the wine across the palate. It can be lean, fine and flinty through to rich, silky and exotic and just about everything in between but no matter the style, nothing transfers terroir to your glass with such acute clarity and focus as the world’s greatest rieslings.
There is great riesling to be found the world over from the Clare to the Coal River at home, to the steep slopes above the snaking Mosel river in Germany, to Alsace at the foothills of the Vosges mountains in north-eastern France…and that’s just the broad strokes. We want to celebrate great riesling in all its forms and incantations and so are holding a tasting to do just that.
