Quin Wines

TOP 10 BEST NEW WINERIES - James Halliday's Wine Companion 2020
The story of Quin Wines and of Andrew and Skye Quin has a feeling of what was meant to be. It all happened so logically, and quickly, you have to draw breath for a moment. Andrew and Skye met at high school in Melbourne, and travelled the world before settling in the Barossa Valley. Andrew's journey started in his grandmother's garden as young boy, which led to the study of horticulture and, eventually, viticulture and winemaking. After consolidating his knowledge at wineries in Victoria and Sonoma, California, he mixed travel and work in the French Languedoc region. After his return to Australia, a chance visit to Hentley Farm in 2008 led to his appointment as chief winemaker for the relatively newly minted brand. It's been forwards and upwards in quick succession. Andrew and Skye have opened the Barossa's latest high-end accommodation, Cambourne Boutique Accommodation. It was the 2014 purchase of the 7.2ha Cambourne Vineyard that allows him to have fun, winning a slew of trophies at the Barossa Wine Show '18, the balance of the production from the vineyard is sold.
