Lucien Lardy

These are vibrant and classic wines, flexing their granite soils, sappy natures and old-vine intensity. They’re incredibly delicious and affordable and have quickly become a firm staff favourite. A fourth-generation vigneron, Lucien Lardy’s old vines are the key to this estate. The Beaujolais village comes from 70-year-old vines – incredible for the price. Their top Fleurie, Moriers, is made from 110-year-old vines. A deliciously ripe core of fruit is the centrepiece of each wine with a fine silty tannin in tow too. Winemaking is kept to the classical style of the region; concrete tanks with whole clusters and semi-carbonic maceration enhance the fruit essence of the wine while also imparting a sappy tone.
