Gosset

Established in 1584, centuries before the bubble was ever put into champagne, Gosset rightfully claims to be the oldest wine house in the region. Far from a staid, traditional establishment, Gosset is on the move, having relocated its production to the impressive Epernay cuverie and cellars of Chateau Malakoff, purchased from Laurent Perrier just in time for vintage 2009. In the midst of change, the house maintains an unwavering consistency, thanks largely to one man, Jean-Pierre Mareigner, its talented Chef de Cave of 30 years. Under his direction, the house style of no malolactic fermentation, clean-cut structure and enduring longevity remains as fine as ever. TYSON STELZER
