Piedlong

Piedlong is the new wine that replaces the wine formerly sold as La Roquete. The 13 hectare Estate is made up of 90% Grenache (planted in the 1950’s) and 10% Mourvèdre (planted in 1970s). The grapes are 70% destemmed and fermented in part wood and part steel vat. After a 35-40 day vinification with daily pump overs the wine then sits in vats for12 months before being transferred into 60 hl barrels for a further 10-12 months. It is then bottled unfined and unfiltered and released 2 years after harvest. The first release was in 2011.
