SATURDAY 27th 12pm -2pm
Nebbiolo has firmly made its way into the hearts and minds of many a wine lover. Here, in Australian the variety has been embraced with gusto and while Barolo and Babaresco are household names the varieties many guises both throughout Italy and closer to home make it an incredibly exciting varietal to explore. Its lilting aromatics, complex nose and bracing structure are incredibly unique and at once utterly beguiling.
Of late the Langhe Hills has been producing some of the most stunning examples with many Barolo or Barbaresco in all but name. Other regions like Roero have been gaining ground on their bigger brothers and sisters with wonderfully soft and pliant versions while the revitalisation and growing interest in areas like Valtellina and Gattinara make fascinating and wholly unique versions of this ethereal grape.
At home in Australia, we have spent decades exploring what this variety can do. With our advancing experience, winemaking nounce and just the right amount of obsession trying to find nebbiolos perfect spot, homegrown versions are the best they have ever been.
Join us Saturday for a deep dive into the many incarnations this variety can take from its home in Italy through to Australian shores.
Tickets $10 refundable on purchases $100 or more.
