Montalto has been quietly plugging away down in Mornington for years now all the while producing some of this country’s finest examples of Chardonnay. They may not be first and foremost in everyone’s minds when scouring the store's shelves or restaurant wine lists but if sophisticated and wonderfully exuberant Chard is your deal then they should be. I think no matter which way you look at it these wines come up trumps. They have been killing it across the wine show system and the critics agree, they are on fire. What's more is that they are not hitting the price brackets of some of their fellow Morningtonites (is that what you call them?).  ROSCOE
