Mikkeller

In 2006 he was a math and physics teacher that started experimenting with hops, malt and yeast back home in his kitchen in Copenhagen, now Mikkel Borg Bjergsø is widely regarded as one of the most creative and exciting brewers in the world. Mikkeller is a so-called "phantom" microbrewery based in Copenhagen, Denmark but also brewing at a variety of locations in several different countries including the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, the UK and the US.

Consistently ranked in Ratebeer's top 20 Breweries wordlwide, Mikkeller has a reputation for pushing the boundaries, creating challenging and exciting beers that has in part inspired a new generation of 'gypsy' brewers to break free of traditional beer categories. From wine barrel aged sours to the world's hoppiest IPA and everything in between, Mikkeller beers are always sure to cause a stir, and with the same recipe never being brewed twice there's always something exciting on the horizon!
