Mayer
Timo is a small producer of hand crafted, single vineyard wines.He believe
that wines are made in the vineyard and therefore try to interfere as little as
possible. The red wines are unfined and unfiltered to show the true expression
of the land.
His aim is to make wines with a point of difference. Bring back

Timo Mayer, also winemaker at
Gembrook Hill Vineyard, teamed with partner Rhonda Ferguson to establish Mayer
Vineyard on the slopes of Mt Toolebewoong, 8 km south of Healesville. The
steepness of those slopes is presumably ‘celebrated' in the name given to the
wines (Bloody Hill). There is just under 2.5 ha of vineyard, the lion's share to
pinot noir, and smaller amounts of shiraz and chardonnay – all high-density
plantings. Mayer's winemaking credo is minimal interference and handling, and no
filtration.
