Trimbach Reserve Riesling 2023 375ml

The 2023 Riesling Réserve was made from 40-50-year-old vines mostly in Ribeauvillé and Bergheim, including Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim. This golden-hued wine has a shimmer of chamomile on its tender, bright and fresh apple-tinged nose. The palate shoots like an arrow of freshness, sleek and slender but with killer instinct. Ripeness and juiciness are united here in their one intention of refreshment. Dryness and a lovely zesty texture ring long after the finish. (Bone-dry) ANNE KREBIEHL MW, Vinous
With viticultural origins going back to 1626 this family owned estate produces some of the finest wines not only of Alsace, but indeed the entire world of wine. Around the villages of Ribeauvillé and Hunawihr, the Trimbach family owns 60 hectares of vineyards including 1.67 ha of Rosacker Grand Cru (which produces the highly famed Clos Sainte Hune Riesling) as well as parcels of Geisberg and Osterberg (blended to make the equally renowned Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Emile). Geisberg and Osterberg are located on the hill rising up behind the ‘new’ family winery on the edge of Ribeauvillé. The family moved from their ‘old’ winery in Hunawihr in the 1890’s! An increible history.
This classic Riesling is bone dry, very fruity and savory. It develops a wonderful ripe acidity which enhances its intensity and complexity. Beautiful purity of fruit. 20% of the wine comes from Grand Cru vineyards. Mostly limestone soils with grapes carefully selected by Pierre & Julien Trimbach.
William Fevre Chablis 2023 375ml

OUTSTANDING - Here the expressive nose is similar if perhaps just a bit more elegant and displaying a whiff of mineral reduction as well as more Chablis typicity. There is slightly better volume to the delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess unusually good power in the context of the appellation. This too should drink well after only a few years of keeping. BURGHOUND
48 hectares of vines with an average age of 50 years - 'more than most 1er crus' - More direct, deeper freshness, some riper fruit but this is obvious a wine of Chablis. Wider, with a fine vibrancy of aroma - super intense and detailed wine - already excellent - and you will have no worry waiting 5-10 years - you will only gain. BILL NANSON, Burgundy Report
Pale lemon yellow. An entrancing bouquet, on the sunnier side but with a mineral undercurrent. Sherbet on the palate along with citrus, good concentration, and an evenly balanced finish. JASPER MORRIS MW
Sourced from a mosaic of exposures and elevations and incorporating old vines planted between 1969 and 1972, the 2023 Chablis Village offers aromas of pear, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and charming, it is underpinned by ripe yet racy acidity and concludes with a long, saline finish. Harvested earlier to preserve freshness, this is a well-executed village-level Chablis. THE WINE ADVOCATE
We'll let the reviews speak for this one. A classic.
Domaine Vacheron Sancerre Blanc 2024 375ml

In Sancerre, there's Vacheron and then there's everyone else. JOEL B PAYNE, vinous.com
As long as you have a Vacheron in your glass you won't get disappointed. STEPHAN REINHARDT wineadvocate.com
The vibrant 2024 Sancerre Blanc is lively, lemony and bright. This is dry, light-bodied and balanced, with zesty citrus flavors, elderflower and boxwood. The 2024 is easy to like. REBECCA GIBB MW , Vinous
What can we add here? One of the region's leading lights without a doubt. Domaine Vacheron is one of the benchmark estates of Sancerre in the Loire Valley, renowned for its biodynamic farming and uncompromising focus on site expression. Working across prized flint, limestone and marl soils, the family crafts Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir of striking purity and precision. The whites are taut and mineral, layered with citrus, orchard fruit and a smoky, flinty edge, while the reds are fragrant, finely structured and quietly complex. Transparent, energetic and deeply terroir-driven, Vacheron’s wines sit firmly among the Loire’s elite.Minerally infused Sancerre balanced with flaovour and that x-factor. A top-flight wine here.
MMAD Chenin Blanc 2023 375ml

I cut my teeth on chenin blanc, McLaren Vale chenin at that, but the wines I was drinking in the late 1980s didn’t bear a great deal of resemblance to this majestic offering.
I’m a bit blown away. Instead of being the steak knives in the range this vies for top spot. It has flavour and texture but it’s the way brine and smoky, reductive characters play in with the fruit that really gets you in. This is a sophisticated white wine. It’s all river stones and nashi pear, apple and cedar, though it’s defined by its smoke/salt/stone characters. It’s also exceptionally poised, dry and tense, all of which suggest that it has a seriously good future ahead of it. (96) CAMPBELL MATTINSON, The Wine Front
Bright, light yellow hue with a nutty bouquet that reflects some barrel work, combined with creamy, waxy, pastry-like nuances. The wine is bright and intense in the mouth, restrained and quietly persuasive, with a bone-dry balance and refreshing qualities. There's a lot to like here. HUONE HOOKE, The Real Review
Pieropan Soave Classico 2024 375ml

Pieropan is widely regarded as a benchmark producer of Soave, playing a pivotal role in elevating the region’s reputation over the past century. Family-owned and deeply rooted in the volcanic hills of the Classico zone, Pieropan crafts Soave with clarity, precision and an unwavering respect for tradition. Their wines, led by the classic Soave Classico, are defined by bright orchard fruit, almond blossom, subtle mineral tension and a gently textural palate that carries both freshness and quiet depth. Consistent, poised and distinctly expressive of site, Pieropan remains a reference point for what great Soave should be.
Pale straw-yellow with subtle green highlights, this classic Soave opens with delicate aromas of white flowers, almond blossom, pear and a touch of citrus zest. On the palate it’s fresh and precise — vibrant citrus and white peach mingle with crisp green apple and a hint of saline minerality, all framed by lively acidity and a clean, dry finish. The volcanic soils and organic farming give the wine lovely clarity and energy, making it both refreshing and expressive of its hillside origins.
Paringa Estate Chardonnay 2025 375ml

Teacher-turned-winemaker Lindsay McCall has an absolutely exceptional gift for winemaking across a range of styles… The wines have an unmatched level of success in the wine shows and competitions that Paringa Estate is able to enter, the limitation being the relatively small production of the top wines in the portfolio. Son Jamie joined the winemaking team in '12, after completing winemaking and viticulture at the University of Adelaide. He was put in charge of winemaking at Paringa Estate in '17 following 5 home vintages and one in Oregon, focusing on pinot noir. JAMES HALLIDAY
I think 2025 is shaping up to be an excellent vintage for Mornington.
White fruit, citrus, spice and cashew. It sports such clean lines with a light grip to texture, there’s some fresh pineapple in the mix, but in a pleasing juicy way. It has intensity, balance and great length. In short it’s a top vintage for this wine and a thoroughly lovely. (95) GARY WALSH, The Wine Front
