After Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over control of the historic and famous Pouilly Fume vineyards in 1972 he moved into Sancerre creating Comte Lafon Sancerre. The fruit is sourced from villages that include Bué, Chaudoux, Chavignol and Verdigny. The vines are aged from 25 to 35 years. The soil is a combination of clay, limestone and silica
