Krug

The Krug style cannot be summed up in a single sentence as each cuvee has its own unique personality. Suffice it to say that quality regardless of popular taste is paramount. Krug is Krug is Krug. All Krug's base wines are vinified in 205 litre barriques made from weathered Argonne oak, which is relatively neutral (tasted with other Champagnes, Krug's oakiness is distinctive, but rarely discernible when drunk on its own). Typically, the wine has a beautiful pale-golden colour, a soft yet invigorating mousse of slow rising, ultra-fine bubbles, elegant aromas of toast, roasted nuts, and dried fruits. The palate is profoundly rich, the fruit ripe yet beautifully dry and mellow, with great finesse and complexity.
