This white wine six-pack takes you on a refreshing ride through some of France’s most dynamic wine regions, while riders fly past the sweeping landscapes of the Tour. We however will get time to linger with a glass full of something chilled and white from six stages of the Tour. From the cool, rugged hills of the Vosges to the breezy Atlantic coast, each wine reflects the character of the place it calls home. Expect bright, mineral-driven whites from mountain tops, zesty coastal styles with saline precision, and aromatic, textured wines from sun-drenched plateaus and valleys throughout the tour..
We've made sure to include a spectrum of styles from alpine-inspired racy numbers (pun intended) to round, lush, and fruit-forward styles from the Mediterranean south. This collection offers a complete cross-section of French terroir through the lens of white wine.
While it may be winter here, the wines are ideal for summer sipping and a vicarious adventure across the French countryside.
Champalou Vouvray 2022

STAGE 9 Flat Chinon > Châteauroux 174.1 km
The 2022 Vouvray may be considered dry by Vouvray standards, but there's definitely residual sugar here, plumping out the palate and curving its edges. Natural acidity ties things up, leaving a fresh conclusion. Delicate aromas of white flowers and orchard fruit make this an appealing apéritif style. REBECCA GIBB MW, Vinous
Family-run and fiercely independent, Champalou is a benchmark producer in Vouvray, specialising in wines made from Chenin Blanc. Catherine and Didier Champalou craft a range of dry, off-dry, and sparkling styles that are beautifully balanced, floral, and textured—showcasing both the versatility of the grape and the elegance of their estate.
Franck Libeaur Jurancon Sec Autres Pentes 2023

STAGE 14 Mountain Pau > Luchon-Superbagnères 182.6 km
Franck Libaude is a rising star in Jurançon, the historic appellation nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees in southwest France. With a deep respect for the land and a philosophy grounded in organic farming and minimal intervention, Libaude is part of a new generation reimagining Jurançon’s potential. His wines capture the vivid tension between mountain freshness and sun-ripened fruit, offering both dry and sweet styles with precision, purity, and personality.
Autres Pentes, meaning “other slopes”, is Franck’s flagship dry Jurançon, made primarily from Petit Manseng, sometimes blended with Gros Manseng. It is a striking, high-altitude white that bursts with notes of citrus peel, green mango, and alpine herbs. The palate is electric—taut and mineral, yet textural and lingering, thanks to lees aging and the natural intensity of the grape. A stunning food wine, Autres Pentes shows just how thrilling and age-worthy dry Jurançon can be in the right hands.
Chapoutier La Combe Pilate Viognier 2021

STAGE 17 Flat Bollène > Valence 160.4 km
Here’s a very good introduction to the viognier whites. Full peach and apricot aromas are married to a generous body and lively acidity. Some positive tannins at the finish. Grown at 250 meters altitude on a site that faces west with sandy granitic soil with a bit of loess. Vinified in stainless steel with sur lie aging. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. STUART PIGOTT, JamesSuckling.com
From a granitic site near Michel's home in Ardeche, the 2021 IGP Collines Rhodaniennes La Combe Pilate Viognier is spicy, floral and perfumed, as it should be, with hints of nutmeg, cassia, anise, melon and orange blossom. Made in stainless steel, it's medium-bodied and richly textured, with a long, spice-driven finish. JOE CZERWINSKI, The Wine Advocate
A powerhouse of the Rhône Valley, Michel Chapoutier has become one of France’s most influential and widely respected winemakers. Known for his biodynamic principles, single-parcel bottlings, and deep commitment to terroir, Chapoutier produces everything from humble table wines to some of the Rhône’s most iconic expressions—always with clarity, precision, and energy.
Domaine Adrien Berlioz Savoie Cuvee des Gueux Jacquere 2021

STAGE 19 Mountain Albertville > La Plagne 129.9 km
Located at the foothills of the Bauges massif, and bordering neighbouring Switzerland and Valle d'Aosta in Italy, the organically farmed vineyards of Domaine Adrien Berlioz in the Savoie region are as picturesque as you might imagine.
Berlioz took over the family vineyards in 2006, two hectares located near a small village called Chignin at 390m above sea level. With plenty of hard work alongside the pursuit of purity and a certified biodynamic approach to farming, he has grown the vineyard to 5 hectares, transforming it into one of the region's most prestigious domaines.
Lively and electric on the palate, leading with notes of ripe green apple and pear. It's a rich and intensely textured wine, with charming acidity and length to complete the package. There's qualities here similar to a Loire Chenin Blanc, but the combination of the Jacquare with the magic touch and power from the Altesse is really something unique!
Frantz Chagnoleau Macon Village Clos Saint Pancras 2023

STAGE 20 Hilly Nantua > Pontarlier 184.2 km
Hazelnuts, grapefruit pith and spiced nectarines mix with crushed rock aromas on the nose. It screams white Burgundy from the get-go. The palate is a flavoursome flow of stonefruits, citrus and nuts, underpinned by a nervy line of minerality. Its generous core is reined in by cage of chewy phenolics and a fresh line of acidity, signing off with saline twist. It's a very delicious Macon that hits well above its pricepoint. GABRIELLE POY, PWS
Note on 2022 release
It has a very elegant and precise bouquet, which offers subtle leesy scents. The palate is underpinned by a fine line of acidity, concentrated yet tensile, with fresh pear and lemon thyme notes on the finish. As good a Mâcon-Villages, you will find any year. NEAL MARTIN
Caroline Gon has been the winemaker at legendary Lafon’s headquarters in the Macon for many years. She’s recently stepped away from her duties to work fulltime with her partner at Frantz Chagnoleau. This tiny estate is one of the rising stars of Burgundy. Neal Martin is already on board, ‘I adore these wines. They rank among the finest in the region.’ If you’re chasing an affordable white Burgundy with flavour, undertow of minerality and loads of joy then this is for you. This is a beauty, it’s articulate and delicious.
Louis Picamelot Cremant de Bourgogne Brut 'Les Terroirs' NV

STAGE 21 Flat Mantes-la-Ville > Paris Champs-Élysées 132.3 km
Based in Rully and presided over by third-generation winemaker-proprietor Philippe Chautard, Maison Louis Picamelot produces some of the best sparkling wines in Burgundy. Forever in Champagne's shadow, few take Crémant de Bourgogne seriously. But what this Maison is doing is already impressive and well worth open-minded consumers' attention. WILLIAM KELLEY, Wine Advocate
Makes you smile. There's a generosity of aromatic that leads you through baked pastry, fresh-cut stonefruits, and then an invigorating punch of crushed stone minerality puffs into view. It's kind of like a Champagne letting its hair down on the palate as well, generosity of well-defined fruit is edged with minerality and oyster shell, while the fine bead cinches and tucks in the effusive edges. It's got enough in it for the serious-minded fizz drinker but is also playful and generous enough to keep you pulling it out of the fridge for pretty much any occasion. MICHAEL MCNAMARA
