Naming the latest Henschke wine in honour of matriarch Prue Henschke is both entirely appropriate and completely unnecessary. Her viticulture work shapes every single wine they produce. Perhaps it's the bold thinking here that best honours Prue with carignan, cinsault, cournoise, grenache gris and noir, clairette, cinsault and shiraz all added to a sequential ferment in order of harvest. The result is a complex amalgam of red and blackberries, salted licorice, wild herbs and woody spices rippling through a supple, slippery wine tightened by fine, pliable tannins. (95) NICK RYAN
