Garlider
Garlider is a 4-hectare biodynamic estate nestled into one of the most picturesque valleys (Eisack) in one of the most picturesque regions in Europe. There, Christian Kerschbaumer, along with his parents, his wife Veronika and their children Anna, Elisa, Philipp and Manuela produces five excellent white wines and one red variety – the only Pinot Noir produced in the South Tyrolean Eisack valley.
Kirchbaumer has learned to put the work in the vineyard and take a more hands off approach in the cellar. To that end he uses indegnous yeast for fermentation and the maturation takes place in either stainless steel or old inert wood. The wines are typical for high quality Alto Adige in that they have this parodxical ability to carry impressive flavour and texture but retain the purity and vivacity of an Alpine stream. Production quantity is not big here but quality is the main game anyway; a point proven by the excellent wines. PWS
