Erste + Neue Pinot Grigio 2021

Just a touch of colour from the skins. It's pretty much your textbook Grigio and right in the drinkability zone. All the parts are in place, aromatically its like walking through an apple or pear orchard with a ground covering of white flowers. It's pretty evocative in that regard, you can almost "feel" the wine before you drink it. It suggests a richness of fruit but there is an airy sense to things as well, so you know it'll deliver on the freshness. It completes that promise with real aplomb, plenty of weighty fruit but also a lovely, rejuvenating, line of apple like acidity adds crunch and tang to the palate which culminates in a final burst if upbeat fruit and a little wee lick of chalkiness and grapefruit pith.
